Ultimately i have no idea how my Carriers (WCOM being one of them) are backhauling the voice traffic.

At the customer's premise side, Cable Modem doesn't exist as an access technology because Cables simnly doesn't have the penetration rate that N.A. has.

DSL is happening but mostly in the business sector and yes we are reselling DSL with IP connection and voice application on top...but this is a bitch of a business because of the cost involved in installation/support...so again 98% of our customer traffic is travelling on the good old POTS/ISDN circuits via Dial Around collection through Telecom Italia POPS and then i imagine the backhauls are still going through the regular circuit-switched networks as the voice quality from my Carriers are quite good since i ride the same voice network that they provide to their direct Major accounts like Pireelli, etc...
