I agree with your calculations. I found that getting cable [next week] actually will save me money. I cancel one phone line and the $20 dial-up account and also non-renew TC2000 [download charting service at $30] and get my charts at StockCharts [under $10 for basic subscription]. I did purchase my own cable modem for $90.

For a user who just occasionally connects for e-mail though [like Juno], broadband is not necessary.
