Get DSL and get rid of the second line, and you are about even.

DSL is not, and may never be, available where I live....I don't live close enough to a telco central office.

I used to have a second dedicated phone line which cost around $18.00 per month (including all the federal and state taxes) and was able to get rid of it when I signed up for the broadband access via cable modem.

Bottom line......

1. Before I signed up for the high speed broadband access via cable modem I was paying $18.00 for a second telephone line plus $179.00 per year ($14.92 per month) for a dial-up account with a local ISP. Total cost was around $33.00 per month.

2. I now pay only $29.95 per month for a connection that is an order of magnitude faster than my dial-up connection, and I'm spending around $3.00 per month less!

I should be so lucky. Downloads that used to take over an hour now only take about three minutes.

Now, if SUNW would only cooperate and go back to at least $15.00 per share I'll feel like I'm shi**en in tall cotton!

Dave

p.s. I couldn't resist.......I bought some more SUNW earlier today at $6.40.

p.p.s. Since INTC also looked pretty enticing, I bought some more INTC today at $22 and change.
