Andrew,

Sorry about that! Personally, I just want people to remember the 1,000,000 Africans dead as a result of the NIF-led Genocide in the last 8 years in the Sudan- all because a Government did not like the Minority's culture or religion in the Sudan. Events in Bosnia have unfortunately overshadowed what has gone on in the Sudan.

From an investment perspective, from your dollar/pocketbook perspective- yes Arakis is sitting upon a big oil field/ nice future cash flow. But remember that the CEO Khan is implicated in being too close to the NIF-Led Government. I tell you that because I see all of these investment portfolio managers hyping AKSEF. They omit to tell you this little point which prevents AKSEF stock from moving forward. I value the SI Thread and have learned tons of valuable information which has made me money. In fact info I learn on SI helps me counter the "advantage" that professional money managers otherwise inside information on what's happening in East Africa, I posted it here as a cautionary note.

Well, AKSEF is a good buy IF, IF Arakis straightens out its relations with the SPLA, or if the SPLA loses the war. You want number one to happen since it could come a lot quicker than the SPLA wearing down since they can draw from 40% of the population of the Sudan.

So my advice is to hold your current AKSEF shares since they could sell their interest possibly in the Sudanese concessions and turn a quick profit. But don't buy more any shares until you see some sign of rapproachment between Arakis and the SPLA. If that occurs, then back up the truck and load up.

Finally did anyone take my advice and buy APM into this morning??? You would be about 11% richer by now. The short squeeze has a long way to go, so you might still consider buying into APM on a pullback. (We small shareholders are collectively screwing Money Manager Jeff Vinik who has a short position in APM of 1.25 MM shares!!! Yes, you read that right!). Also look at SEMX, whose earnings come out on 7/16/97. This little tech stock will likely increase its revenues by 50-80% this year due to its puchase of some technologies from Texas Instruments recently....

By the way I don't mind you guys calling me names. Trust me I've been called a lot worse working as missionary in the Middle East! And if my actions with the Christian Relief Organizations or former fellow Carter Admiistration Members turns up more info on the situation in the Sudan, I'll post it here- so that the "pros" don't have an edge on us individual investors....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
