Noticed some headlines in newspapers on Thursday indicating HMO's to be increasing their rates over 20%, some as high as 94%.

Got a indication from a gent in the business a month or so ago that [health care insurance] rates would be going up a lot due to some new government regulation. No details on that, it was a brief conversation, but looks like he knew what he was talking about. News articles I read didn't mention that regulation, they attributed the rate increases to the HMO's keeping costs low over the 90's to gain market share (yeah right! sounds like tech hype).

Just an inflation indicator tidbit...
