That's one definition of "inure" that also is in my Webster's dictionary. There's also another definition, the one I was using and the one I'm used to seeing in use much more often: "to come into use; to take or have effect; to serve to the use or benefit of; as a gift of land inures to the heirs of the grantee, or it inures to their benefit."
