Amazingly George, we agree on most counts. (as I doubt anything could be "discovered" about these bad calls... but I supose there may be a slight chance for it)

In a way it reminded me of the W.Germany ~vs~ England game final in the 1966 cup

"The goal that never was"

The main reff called on the linesman to determine the out come and I have a great difficulty with such scenario particularly in such important decisions.

So.. bottom line, it comes down to the net result and what a team can do to PREVENT such scenarios.

Once again, we agree on the fact that if makes no sense to score ONE goal and retrench, (which the Italians are famous for), and they paid the price, perhaps unfairly, but just as well, as for the Croats... well, they played and they scored... they won.
