It's the Japanese long liners that kill everything in the seas. It used to be most swordfish caught were 500 to 1,000 pounds. Now a 50 pounder is considered large. When you take them before sexual maturity it doesn't bode well for the specie.

Edit: We need more "Perfect Storms".
