We all have a duty to be concerned. The problem with voting is that the choices are made well in advance of election day, and most Americans are cynical enough to realize it.

In fact, one Texas populist, Jim Hightower, has written a book on the subject: "If The Gods Had Meant Us To Vote, They'd Have Given Us Candidates."
