Dave, I think of myself as a reasonable person (of course, I hear crazy people think so, too). Post Sept 11th was almost like a new America, at least for a couple of months. In that time, we went through a lot of emotions. Quite frankly, one of them was the edge of panic. If there are more terror attacks, I could see this adminstration clamping down hard. The thing that scared me most was when I heard that Ashcroft wanted to suspend one of the pillars of American law: habeus corpus. The fact that this was even seriously considered at this juncture leads me to fear that a series of attacks will rock our foundation. I'm hoping I'm wrong. But, watching Fox News post Sept 11th, I saw a lot of wild eyed accusations of 'unAmericanism' that gave me a creepy feeling like they must have felt in the 50's. It can't happen here, can it?
