I used PCS for 4 years. After 4 years of using AT&T they were heaven. The PCS Network in NYC was good, not great. Their long distance service, especially to CA was unreliable. I had some problems with excessive roaming charges for a couple of years but they always credited my account for that after I told them there was no way I was paying for those roaming charges. The problem was partly due to the Qualcomm 2700 phone I had. When that phone first came out you were not able to set it to work on the Sprint PCS network only. Qualcomm eventually corrected that on a newer model so the roaming problem went away for me. My new phone was then set to work on the Spring PCS network only, so I got no roaming charges. Customer care at PCS had no idea what was going on. They kept on blaming me for the roaming charges. But I knew what the problem was and was proven correct when Qualcomm came out with a newer model and explicitly stated that they had corrected the problem of not being able to set the phone to work on the PCS network only.

Connecting to the Web via the PCS network and my Palm Pilot was great. That was much better than using Novatel's modem and Verizon's service.

Don't construe this to mean that I'd buy PCS' stock. I've never owned the stock. My only regret is that I never shorted it. These days I use Cellcom and I'm quite satisfied.
