It is a reflection- but in words, interpreted in the mind of someone else. It is, I think, a very poor reflection for the most part. And that poor quality reflection can make distortions seem more real than the "real" person. Given that, I'm not sure how authentic the experience is between "real" people. And it is no wonder everyone appears to end up feeling abused or misunderstood or just angry at some point- at least to judge from the posts on SI. It is certainly an authentic experience in our own heads, but in terms of an interconnecting reality? At least in 3d groups you are all in the same room at some point (usually), receiving the same data, although still interpreting it differently. But in 3d you are getting data not only on the speaker, but on the listeners/group- and you have more data, you have all the verbal and non-verbal information.

While the same range is probably exhibited here as in many 3d groups, the possibility for miscommunication is so enhanced here, those who are inclined to take it very seriously are going to be unhappy (or so I would think.)
