Weekly update of market, volume, and volatility trends(based on the 250 stocks I follow): Updated for close of trading day Friday, 06/07/2001 Well no capitulation or uptrend this week. All we got was MOTS. The old "flaming bull" for stocks chart is just barely burning now. Problem is, the "all negatives" haven't reciprocated. I would expect the brown section to move up measurably. Even the "flaming bull" for sectors has almost burned out while the "all negatives", even though rising, are still quite low. Guess we have more time to go. The semi equipment sector continues to be pummeled with heavy volume selling - dropping to 88 out of 95 sectors on Friday after a small peaking Wednesday to 65 out of 95. Maybe the Intel story was the washout this group needed to bring on the recovery. No doubt buying was the bias after Friday's low open, however most semi equipment stocks were unable to recover the day's loss (unlike COHU). On a more humbling side, COHU managed to record the greatest weekly drop in 50 day Power Volume performance of the 250 stocks I follow - falling from a relative strength of 60 last week to 29 this week. I see a light at the end of the tunnel! Or is that a train??
