A excerpt form Dave Hunt’s book, A Cup of Trembling – Jerusalem and Bible Prophecy

"The Bible states repeatedly and clearly that the title deed to the land of Israel was given by God to the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to replace nations which had been cast out of the land because of their wickedness and that it was given to Israel forever. Whatever one's prejudices or beliefs, what the Bible says cannot be denied. The promise of the land was not given once or twice but dozens of times and is repeated in almost every Old Testament book. Therefore, although the Arabs may claim to be descended from Ishmael, that is not good enough. They are definitely not of the seed of Isaac and Jacob, to whom the land was given. The Arabs prove this by their hatred and persecution of the Jewish people to this day.

It was God who promised this land to these people. Therefore anyone who tries to prevent them from receiving full possession and enjoyment of their land is rebelling against God and comes under the curse which He established: "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee. . ." (Genesis 12:3). If we believe the Bible at all, then we must admit that the "Promised Land" belongs to those to whom God promised it. That being the case, we must do all we can to enable them to possess that land. It is not a matter of human agreement or disagreement, but of agreement with God Himself.

This Is God's Land

Three things must be remembered about God's promise of the land to Israel:

1) The promise was not made to present-day Jews (who may seem unworthy by their behavior), but to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and therefore it is unconditional as far as the right of their descendants to the land, a land which belongs to them exclusively;

2) Continued possession of the land is conditioned upon obedience to God, and those who disobey, though genuine descendants of Jacob, will be cast out if they do not repent and return to God; and

3) The promise was not for some limited time that has now passed but was for ever and ever and thus holds true today. These three points are made repeatedly and in the clearest language throughout the Bible. The following are only a few among the many examples that could be given:

And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said . . . Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self. . . all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever (Exodus 32:11,13).

The land shall not be sold forever, for the land is mine. . . (Leviticus 25:23).

And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets. . . . They said, Turn ye again now everyone from his evil way. . . and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever (Jeremiah 25:4,5).

And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children forever. . . (Ezekiel 37 :25).

The words of the prophets could not be plainer as they repeatedly renewed God's promise, a promise that gave the land to Israel in perpetuity. One's opinion on this important and controversial subject is not a matter of being "pro-Israel" or "pro-Arab" or "anti" either of these peoples, but of acknowledging God's will in the matter. The simple fact is that in trying to take back land from Israel, the Arab nations are opposing God and rejecting His clear promises in the Bible and are thereby robbing themselves of the blessing that God promised to those who would bless Israel. The same is true of the Palestinians in demanding autonomous control over parts of that land which was promised to Israel."
