jcky, this was a very bad article and quite a poor analysis. The authors don't even stop to think what might be the strategic goals of the two parties in the conflict, not the short term goals and the long range strategic goals. How can one attempt to understand the conflict without even stopping to think about those basic issues. One certainly cannot label these stupid or smart. One only needs to read Sharon's op-ed in the NYSE to get a glimpse of his long term strategic goals, and read Arafat and Hamas stated long term strategic goals to understand the conflict much better. Neither of these conflicting points of view are even brushed over. A very poor article, IMHO. Zeev
