Over the short term (whether this be a couple weeks or a couple quarters) this statement is exactly correct. Over the longer term, earnings alone drive the price. 2 or 3 quarters from now, it is not going to matter if Iomega was trading at a p/e of 50 or 200 on July 19th. Remember, we are not talking about buying tech stocks or indices or anything else. We are talking about a single company, Iomega.
