The way the guest speaker phrased it, it seemed to me that Buckley was a fan of Ms. Rand, until Mr. Chambers review.

But with regard to your link, Capitalism is built on trust. Trust is worth conserving, IMO. I know that may seem like a cutesy answer, but I think it is important that we trust in democracy and the Constitution. Even we don't have trust in a rule of law, then we do not have trust to enter into an investment or to sign a contract.

On to life:

Where am I? Someplace where if I do not eat and drink, I will perish.

How do I know it? That is a tough one, that I can not answer.

What should I do? Assume that if I do not eat and drink, I will perish, so eat and drink, and do what I can to make sure I will never have to worry about where my eat and drink come from.
