It was of course a hostile crack she had made in response to a civil disagreement. Was my reply either inappropriate or untoward, iyo?

IMO, since you asked for for my opinion, your rebuke was within reasonable parameters. To be rehashing it still seems a bit much to me, particularly since she backed away from it in response to your rebuke.

She "defended" CH for the behavior she didn't approve of because "the net is the place for bad behavior."

I don't know what to make of her statement. I really can't fathom most of what either of you have said since this thing escalated. This "woof" and "bitch" stuff, well, my goodness! I recognize that people more excitable than I can get a little weird when they're on a tear. I can't really relate to it, but I recognize it when I see it and tend to discount much of what is said during those periods. I don't think either of you could stand to see your excited utterances carefully parsed. So I have confined my comments on this matter to what occurred up to the escalation. After that, I can't rationalize any of it.
