China External Trade Development Council 'CETRA' Launches BroadVision-Powered Information Portal and Marketplace

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jun 10, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), the leading provider of enterprise business portal applications, today announced that CETRA, the China External Trade Development Council, has recently launched Taiwantrade (www.taiwantrade.com.tw), an information portal and trading hub powered by BroadVision(R) applications. Taiwantrade helps small and medium sized companies in Taiwan gain a digital edge over their global competition.
CETRA, Taiwan's largest non-profit trade promoter for more than 30 years, launched Taiwantrade in March. The BroadVision-powered site enables buyers from around the world and suppliers in Taiwan to easily conduct business online. It provides a single portal with dynamic navigation capabilities that helps global buyers efficiently access a wide variety of trade and product information. Members of Taiwantrade can create electronic catalogs online to promote their own products, access databases, use an online RFQ system, or receive news and information about trade leads and events. BroadVision One-To-One(R) advanced personalization technology is used to help members quickly access relevant information without having to wade through a large volume of unrelated data.

"BroadVision's customer-oriented applications have helped us to bring more personalized, user-friendly services to our members," said Mr. W.J. Huang, executive director of CetraNet Center, who is in charge of the Taiwantrade operation. "Using the latest e-commerce and customer service technology, we have deployed a site that can compete well against other international online marketplaces."

"CETRA's Taiwantrade portal offers a wealth of personalized information about conducting business with Taiwan, as well as the tools that make trade with Taiwanese suppliers more efficient," said Sandra Vaughan, senior vice president of marketing for BroadVision. "We're pleased that CETRA chose BroadVision to power this innovative project."
