I suggested a Kinross / Echo merger was probable at least six months ago. It makes sense as a vehicle to develop projects in Nanavut, maybe by taking ore from George/Goose Lake (KGC) down to the Lupin mill (ECO).

Newmont is the largest ECO shareholder (from the Franco Nevada merger) and Kinross was seocnd largest. Why not throw TVX into the mix (which Newmont is invested in via the TVX Normandy joint venture), and get all the miscellaneous stuff out of Newmont.
