TA-
From today's Kiplinger Washington Letter:

"Gold prices will sink lower as more central banks sell reserves.
Europeans will have to sell gold to meet budget targets for the
euro."

The first paragraph from the same letter:

"Enjoy it, this is about as good as it gets. Solid growth in jobs
and incomes. Low inflation and unemployment. Reasonable interest rates. Shrinking gov't deficits. Robust exports. Sky-high consumer
confidence. And a Jack-and-the-Beanstalk stock market. A happy set
of circumstances.

"And most of this will go on awhile, at least until next summer, After slowing to catch its breath this spring, the economy will pick up in the last half of '97 and keep growing through the first half of '98. If it lasts through '98, it'll be the longest peacetime expansion ever."
