Action's Publishing Division Establishes Canadian
Distribution

OCALA, Fla., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Action Products International, Inc. (Nasdaq:APII),
announces an alliance between its division, Action Publishing(TM), and Monarch Books of
Canada, Ltd. Action Publishing(TM) publishes educational activity books and interactive media,
such as books with CD ROMs, for sale by its retail partners and distributors. Monarch Books is a
leading Canadian distributor of high quality children's books. Its full time sales force is spread
across Canada and services the retail market. Some of their major accounts include educational
dealers, cataloguers, and mass market retailers including Chapters, Toys R Us, Moyers and other
distributors.

Monarch will initially carry 77% of the Action Publishing line and plans to carry all future titles
introduced by the Company. Nearly ten percent of Monarch's 132 page Fall 1997 catalog will
display the Action Publishing titles.

``This is the first step in obtaining international recognition for our educational titles,'' said Pablo
Savetman, Action's Vice President of Sales. ``We plan to aggressively add distributors in other
countries as well as the United States.''

Monarch president and CEO Ron Gurfinkel commented on the alliance, ``Action Publishing titles

Ron Kaplan, President and CEO of Action Products International (parent company of Action

Action Publishing (parent company Action Products International, Inc.) plans to release second
quarter results later this week.
