I wish that when people have questions or reservations about what I'm doing they'd just ask. I usually have a rationale for what I do and I can usually explain it.

I'm glad I asked. That was interesting and explanatory.

I correct this about loyalty "versus" principle-driven frameworks:

I am a good friend, to friends, that's true. But the implication that you can't be a good friend and also a person of principle, if you are implying that, is inaccurate with regard to me and I think is inaccurate with regard to most unsimple people. I don't assume you were saying that was the case wrt me, but lest it be misunderstood: Any friend you have seen me defend here has imo been right on the principle.

And I point out that it has been revealed here, not by me, that for a long time I was CH's partisan in trying to work out a non-ban, though he is not my friend in any way, as a matter of principle, if my friend could at the same time be protected from him.

So: I think the notion that the world is divided into the loyal and the principled is silly, in short. People are more complicated than that.

And the woods are full of people X used to "accept" and have good "relationships" with but to whom she is now hateful. I'd suggest you not be too secure about "she accepts me as I am and I accept her as she is. That's relationship 101."

I appreciate the time and thought you gave to that post.
