You must admit there is some, shall we say, daylight, between foreign policy as outlined by the State Department and by President Bush. Just within the last week, the State Department put forth a final status plan for the State of Palestine offering a better deal than Taba, and today Bush says that no one has faith in the emerging Palestinian government, so he's not pressing for negotiations. Are these statements easily reconcilable? Imagine sitting in Jerusalem anxiously trying to fathom American foreign policy from such statements.
