Couldn't have said it better myself.
I even agree with most of your biased comments ....

perceive me as biased….
I think that X is a welcome addition
she is smart,
knowledgeable,
articulate,
and has some unusual points of view
she adds to the color and texture of the debate.

…means favoritism
I was sponsoring her
I naturally was her advocate
I was hoping to persuade them to take it so that I can have discussions with you and X and others
She accepts me as I am and I accept her as she is.

You left out why you are not only silent in specific
and personal cases but also bolster those specific
persons when they are on a "tear" by having light
hearted chats on the side enroute.

Don't believe you missed a drum beat on my behalf
in the last few months. But that is in the other
direction. What's the opposite of favoritism?
Is it still favoritism only with negative reinforcement?
