Take a look at the stock prices of companies after insider selling.
Plain and simple logic.

Why sell, unless you know something that will pummel the price of the stock in the future?
.

Glad you brought insider selling up. You would think they know something right?

Hardly.

One of the two times insider selling was more pervasive than what is going on right now was in the second half of 1997 when the ratio was 3.5 insider seller for every buyer. The market screamed higher for the next 2 + years.

On the flipside, massive insider buying occurred in January February 2000 right before the market collapsed. Do your dd and check out the buying ratios for yourself. It was a buying orgy by the 'smart money' insider. NOT.

Pathetic timing buy the insiders.

But as you well point out - one paints the picture he sees tainted towards his positions.

You think that analogy is a two way street?

For both Bulls and Bears?

Best Regards, J.T.
