R. Page Chilcott, the President of Cadre Resources Ltd. (the “Company”) reports that a detailed technical proposal and permit application has been initiated under the direction of Dr. Marcello M. Veiga, MSc., PhD. Dr. Veiga is an Assistant Professor of Department of Mining and Mineral Process Engineering, University of British Columbia (UBC) and is one of several researchers from UBC’s Centre for Environmental Research in Minerals, Metals and Materials working with industry to solve pollution problems.

In addition, Dr. Veiga has consented to stand as a nominee for election as a director of the Company at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. Dr. Veiga spent more than a decade in the mining industry before earning a metallurgical engineering degree, a master’s degree in environmental geochemistry and subsequently a PhD. His passion is the application of ecologic and economic sustainability coexisting with social equity, pertaining to the mineral industry. Dr. Veiga is acknowledged internationally as one of the world’s foremost experts in the introduction of new technologies for abatement of global mercury pollution and contamination. He has authored dozens of papers and reports. Also, he has conducted numerous symposiums on the coexistence of mining and the environment worldwide, notably for United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and Center of Mineral Technology (CETEM). The addition of Dr. Veiga to the Cadre Board adds substantially to the depth of management expertise particularly in the areas of mineral processing and the environment.

Dr. Veiga’s UBC team is working in collaboration with the highly regarded La Salle Natural Sciences Foundation (Fundacion La Salle) located in Venezuela. La Salle is an international organization fostering community participation in the prevention and solving of environmental problems in order to improve living standards. Both UBC and La Salle possess substantial and sophisticated laboratory testing facilities being made available to the Project study.

The technical proposal and permit application for the Caroni Project will cover geological and hydrological conditions, existing mercury contamination sources and mercury abatement, metallurgy, modern dredge technology and modern mobile processing plants, plus the social and environmental benefits of the Project. The proposal will also put forward the importance of the proposed feasibility study. References are to include similar operations around the world.

Venezuelan acceptance of the permit application will allow the planning of a detailed feasibility study.
