You beat the piss out of Jewel and you give X - quite possibly the most bitter, volatile troublemaker on SI - a pass.

Because Jewel irks me more than X does? Which is not the same thing as saying that X is a better thread citizen than Jewel is, you understand. Or do you? I am making no statement on the relative misdeeds of the parties.

Since when do I have sole responsibility for meting out justice around here? Why do I have to express disapproval proportionate to the relative misdeeds of the parties? What about the French judge? Do I not take the French judge into consideration and the total pool of meted justice when I decide where to address mine? Do I not take into account that Jewel takes his angst out on me while X takes her anger out on others? Huh? Huh?
