ominous Dow reversal, Naz sucking wind, US$ sluggish

was that a 140-pt Dow reversal ?
apparently, a move toward detente between India & Pakistan does little to change the earnings prospects of most US stocks, let alone the lofty valuations by any measure
e.g. PE ratio, Price/Sales, dividend yield, EBITDA

NazComp avoided a reversal, because it was too beaten up to even get up off its back
earnings yield for techs resembles 3-month TBill yield
under 2%, which translates to near zero RRR (real rate return)

the USdollar remains stuck under 111.6 day after day
this pig might not rise on a bounce after all
it is staring at the precipice down to 108 on a daily basis
its failure to confirm the rising gold price SPEAKS VOLUMES

so I would expect gold to fashion a steady rebound here

the HUI chart looks damaged though
we need a less ambitious uptrend slope from here
I think it will come
if they build it, gold will come
