Now that we've defined terms, your "resolving the matter" means what? a) changing the minds of the Islamic fundamentalists, and avoiding further recruiting worldwide by Saudis and others b) killing them all c) something else ... I'm looking for leadership in a public debate on policies that can avoid "(b)". The administration has already made up its mind. I hear the bloodlust rising worldwide towards conflagration abroad, and at home. That's not leadership. That's simple warlord fascism, uncomplicated by the higher ideals that are the strength of America. The strength of the US is not the military might we have assembled, it is our restraint that gives us honor and credibility. The truth is - if enough suicide warriors wish to make life miserable in the US, our way of life is over, and we are in for an unlimited period of total war inside the US borders The question, upon which millions of lives rest, is: do you think extermination will work? After reading the Islamic strictures against knowledge, allowing only Mullahs to dictate policy, it looks unlikely. There needs to be full public debate on how to avoid another 500 years' Crusade.
