With all the excitement regarding the anthrax test; investment interest has focused on this as a short term development and are not noticing the potential of primary direction of the company in medical testing. Here Response is focused on some very large markets world wide with cardiac markers tests. Also in early stages of development is a test for Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) which is licensed to Nippon Kayaku for the Japanese market, while RBM maintains the rest of the world market. Nippon Kayaku has been working on the feasibility studies which should be substantially complete by now and the next stage needs to be
preparation of the PSA test for clinical trials in Japan. If this goes though then RBM can then prepare clinical trials in North America. According to Gary Zweiger in his book - Transducing The Genome - McGraw Hill

Testing for PSA enables early diagnosis of prostrate cancer, which allows early treatment and the preservations of many lives p. 158

These are large markets which will develop irrespective of the outcomes of the war on terrorism, a war which could pass as quickly as it came; and is subject to whim and fancy of political intrigue. If any money is made on the bioterrorism test it will just boost us into our target. Are we in this position by luck, or because RAMP is truly a significant technology? It is hard to tell but there is a huge potential here and I am going with the flow.
