An incredible landmark.

As of yesterday, the premier biotech portfolio on SI, the VD model portfolio, closed below where is started ~5 years ago Message 17589094

The portfolio is down 90% YTD!!! Message 17589681 This latter factoid is primarily due to hubris associated with going far into margin-land based on the misplaced self-confidence accumulated during the gravy years when virtually anyone could make money in the BTs.

There are still a number of folks mindlessly hyping biotechs based on supposedly astute analysis ...and gloriously oblivious to the fact the sector is probably more susceptible to investor sentiment and hype - as opposed to an objective assessment of tangible assets and REAL prospects - than virtually any other group of stocks in the market.

The total obliteration of the BT sector over the past 2 years in general, and over the past 6 months in particular, should be a lifetime lesson to all participants of the TOTAL WORTHLESSNESS of the 'advice' given for the BT sector on Silicon Investor.

The next time you read, 'Wow, there are some REAL BT bargains out there right now' or 'Wow, Scam Biotech is selling for just 1.23456X cash. What a bargain!', here's my advice:

RUN LIKE HELL!!!

DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE PEOPLE!!!

FULL STOP.
