Seconds: Interesting e-mail below from Chet. Who knows what'll come of it, and by requesting customer input perhaps it's an indication that they're still not quite where they wanna be yet with the service . . . but it's a good-faith attempt at gaining client feedback, and at least they're trying.
P.S. -- Dave: I've been out of town for the past few days . . . Haven't read the Times and not sure who Tony is, but I think I get your drift. Anyway, thanks so much for your kind, considerate and I'm sure well-meaning invitation to come clean. I don't feel that I owe you any explanations about anything, particularly since I lost all respect for you several years back when you publicly posted a Private Message here in flagrant violation of, and disregard for, board ethics and common decency. Nonetheless, because I'm such a nice guy and because I don't hold grudges (at least not for more than several years) and because I'm sure there are a bunch of other posters/lurkers around here who are just dyin' to hear my response, I'll be more than happy to address your comments and concerns as soon as I get some time to fashion a suitable reply. Higher priorities at the moment. But stay tuned . . .

Dear OnStar Subscriber,
In a constant effort to improve and expand our services, we at OnStar have commissioned a market research firm - Ipsos-NPD - to recruit an Advisory Committee of OnStar users to advise us on the direction we are taking and on the services we provide. You have been selected to join the OnStar Advisory Committee.
Participation is absolutely free - there is never any cost to you and your information will be kept strictly confidential. You will be eligible for cash prizes just by joining and again each time you participate.
We are looking for OnStar users who have access to the Internet and have an email address that is frequently accessed.
How does it work?
Start by visiting our website and click on the Join Now button and complete a short member profile. <http://www.ipsosresearch.com/onstaradvisor>

Once you complete the member profile, we will send you a thank you email and confirm that your name is entered in the initial prize drawing of one of five $200 cash prizes! You will then receive email invitations to complete a few surveys via the Internet over the next few months.
The online surveys that you will receive range in topic from OnStar's new product ideas to questions about how often you use OnStar. Simply click on the link found in your e-mailed survey invitation and you will be connected to the new survey. Each survey should only take about ten minutes of your time. After completing each survey your name will be entered in another cash prize drawing.
What is in it for you?
There are several important benefits to joining the Advisory Committee:
* You can contribute to the direction OnStar is taking.
* You will be entered into a cash prize drawing after completing each survey.
* You can get a "sneak preview" into the products and services that OnStar is developing.
Our Commitment to You
* We guarantee the confidentiality of your information.
* You will not be asked to purchase anything.
* Your name, e-mail address or any other information will never be shared or sold.
* Participation is 100% FREE
* You can "opt out" at any time.
* You will represent thousands of other OnStar users.
I sincerely hope you take this opportunity to join the Advisory Committee. If you have any questions please go to the website at www.ipsosresearch.com/onstaradvisor <http://www.ipsosresearch.com/onstaradvisor> .
Best Regards,
