In order to immigrate here, I favor all that and more. Full background checks, profiling, say these countries can't even come here, etc. etc.
But, once here, you have the full package of rights available to all.
For instance, if I have a friend, who is an Arab, and who knows someone who associates with a known terrorist organization, but my friend doesn't know that about his friend, then the FBI could legally put wire taps put on my phones, obtain warrants to search my house, in short I could have the full brunt of the FBI come down on me as hard as they could until they found something they could lock me away with, simply because I have a friend who is Arab.
