How will this affect the Brew/Java battle?

Which is more open and comes with less baggage? If this OMA group is serious (which I hope they would be given the devastation their SH have suffered - at least on the telecom side) then open standards/approaches are likely to win out over proprietary ones (read BREW, though qcom is certainly in a position to offer it up as a standard if they wish). I'd pick Borland to make money out of software platforms way ahead of Qualcomm, though SoftE will get the lion's share (no doubt NOK and SUNW will get some). What's programming platforms got to do with cdma?! What sustainable comp adv does qualcomm have in this field?!
