Tyco trading heavily lower

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tyco International is slumping $1.68, or 15 percent, to $9.37 on volume of 99.2 million shares, enough to make the stock the NYSE's most active. The stock tumbled to a low $8.25 earlier in the session, a level not seen since January 1996. Tyco continues to be racked by investor concerns over a criminal investigation into the company following an indictment and resignation of its chairman and over the delay in the initial public offering of its CIT unit.
