Jim,

I have been following that story. I think it is absolutely essential that large investment firms be more readily disclosing. Seeing that Jeff Vinik's group recently bailed out of BTGI after running the stock up to $26 earlier this year shows the level of impact that large institutions/money managers have in today's market. Given that we almost have as many mutual funds as public stocks has really created a market disarticulation that tends to find smaller issues easily manipulated or overlooked completely.

I never really understood the ramifications of a "nifty-fifty" marketplace and the impact it has on the broader markets as a whole. I think that we are seeing this now. Large firms want liquidity for their holdings and engage in a trading mentality as each fund tries to outpace the competition.

Tell me about how the government is maintaining these so-called "orderly markets". :0)

Regards,

Ron
