...No, one of the proper rolls for government is as a guarantor for the citizen's liberties, and security.

Even if we had a Direct Citizen's Democracy - such as an 'Electronic Democracy' where all citizens could vote in near real time on issues that affected them - we would still need some sort of government to implement the required actions, to perform permanent standing functions.

No, no one I've ever heard of says we can do away with government (although, a lot of 'reducing' government wouldn't hurt us any). 1/3 of Gross Domestic Product is WAY to big a government to my taste.
