The issue of Quebec really has little to do with the pressures (for instance) which impact on Western Canada to choose certain Americanizing options. What are these? And why is eastern Canada different? Canadians ought to be protective of some of the differences which define their character. And, in your opinion, these are? On the other hand, resistance to change must be grounded in deeper motives than sentimentality... Otherwise you're French. :-)
