rgjack,
Here are the tools that I use for trading:
Stockcharts: P&F and candles (various timeframes)
Quote.com: Livecharts
Briefing.com: Mostly focus on the "in-play" section
Yahoo: I don't do much FA, but what I do, comes from Yahoo

WRT realtime charts, I know that there are other packages out there that are more versatile and well....better, but much of my trading is done while I am on the road...often in Asia. I often just have my laptop and am on a dialup line sitting in a hotel room in the middle of the night in Tokyo or Seoul or Hong Kong or Beijing. It doesn't make sense for me to have elaborate charting within those bounds.

The other part is that my analysis starts with P&F charting to pick my general entry and exit. I then go to candles at various time intervals to fine tune my entry. I use Stockcharts annotation to draw lines and write notes so that people on the thread can see what I am seeing.

I am pretty sloppy with my charts. For trendlines, I am not strict about lining everything up perfectly, for me, the general pattern is what I am looking at. Much of my trading is done by "feel".
