TAKING CHANCES:
Hi Kevin,
Re: I look at these conspiracy theories and try to imagine the perpetrator actually going through the thought process of deciding to do it. Would Bush risk his presidency, his reputation, actually, his life, for this?
Bush is only one of a whole long list of "perpetrators" who've been engaged in swindles for personal gain.
In his class and group of like thinkers, you have a now seemingly endless series of CEOs who've damaged their companies, their workers and their shareholders for vast personal gain.
Here's a few stellar examples: Ken Lay, Chuck Watson, Dick Cheney, Dennis Kozlowski, Gary Winnick, Bernie Ebbers, Michael Eisner etc....... and they are simply the most visible.
We have a horrible game going on in America, where the corporate chieftains have effectively stolen the government from the people and are fleecing us with impunity. Just look at the Andersen show trial. Will that end in anything other than a "hung jury"? No, and with a hung jury, all future Andersen-Enron prosecution is tainted. They'll get away with it with government complicity and the best lawyers criminal CEOs can buy.
