Waht, you think I have a dorsal fin and a million sharp teeth? when is a person considered a public figure? When the Weekly World News claims they are the spawn of space aliens. They are, in effect self-publishing, aren't they? Watch it, buddy! We don't allow claims of self-abuse on this thread unless it's against yourself. You have to go to BB to do that! If the content of these threads is the property of go2net, do authors have any claim to copyright? TLC says yes. INSP says no. The USSC hasn't weighed in yet. Are their unique on-line personalities public figures? There you go again. Oh. You said "public". A pseudonym can't be libeled, can it? Only if it's mine. Are those who choose to use their real name, knowing full-well that their comments and behavior will be viewed by hundreds if not thousands (and potentially millions) public figures? I don't know. I know they're either very brave or very foolish though. Is there a distinction to be made between those who post details about their life (education, training, experience, family, occupation and or location) and those who don't? Yes. The former should see a good shrink.
