When the US takes actions that influence others it has to consider the response. For example if the US provides weapons to Israel and Israel then uses the weapons to kill..the US has to consider the fact that there will be some who hate the US because of it...justified or not.

The concept is not alien to the American way of thinking. If I loan my car to someone and they have an accident and injure someone American justice will come after me as well as the driver. If I loaned the car to an irresponsible person then the justice system would be right in going after me.

Agreed, and George Bush is doing an exemplary job

Before or after he got a wake up call? Not much has change since Sept 11 with respect to our enemies. It sure seems like our foreign policy has changed. If it wasn't a wake up call what was it? If he didn't need waking up why did our policy change?
