Your reply will take more time than I have this morning, but quickly I'll say you changed the context of the post which was about DVDR and SONIC Solutions Remember (SNIC?) and converted everything to issues of the Internet which is not in fact the lead application, it will trail for now.
Right from the start; I asked do you want to know the problems DVD Authors will have communicating in the desktop via drive/system interface. While you appear interested in only fiber to the curb, and solving or justifying VOD for today. These are two distinct sets of problems and markets, and I can assure you that I could care less in the immediate present wether they are solved soon. In my neighborhood we have two broadband providers, and one more on the way, Internet video is far down the list of concerns from a perspective of DVD Authoring.
If you want to PM me a fax number I'll dig out my application notes I did for a startup in 1993/94, about the same time your friend was telling you that nonsense about audio tape.
Another thing, are you heavily invested in the comm side? I've pulled all my money out of there, I am interested in the present trend in the market, not wishing or hoping for these Capital decisions to be made, or the M&A to occur which allows the Fallen favorites and their VC money, restored to a balance sheet of some favorite son through the bankruptcy courts. Isnt the post bubble part of the business cycle known as the churn?
DVD Authoring does not depend one iota on the internet. Please accord some respect too these creative and wonderful people who despite not being dotcoms, have managed to create in partnership with a whole other universe of specialists a new multi billion dollar business, that will march forward as a creative and dynamic business. |
