You're getting caught up in your own story. First it was you read an article and got exited. Now, "I have seen how this company operates and at times they do really dumb things and I think this HR foible is just the latest. Their markets are booming so maybe a bit of luck will overshadow their mistakes".

I rest my case.....you have your own agenda and I suggest you cover.
