How frightening. Almost all of the women I know on SI who started out using their real names had some experience with a physical or telephone stalking.

When the community was smaller, the vast majority of profiles had real e-mail addresses and occupations listed. Within a couple of years, just about everyone had changed to pseudonyms after receiving unwelcome e-mail and/or telephone calls (that went beyond spam).
