Your teacher would love this: Outfest 2002

Since Bill Simon and his entourage of church mice won´t write this article, I´ll do it for them. Sometimes you reach a certain stage, you observe people with a certain dangerous ambition. Confirmed bachelors and frisky female teachers are emboldened to come out in classrooms. Constantly growing California Governor Gray Davis, more effective in front of small groups, and his perky staff, are, if nothing else, multi-talented.

Their genius is this: they are well-versed in giving colorful explanations for their pro-victim capers, safe-school aberrations, and militant diversity. Some ideas and opinions are so foolish that one has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe them. And this gang believes all of it. Again to the facts, California ranks 47th in the 50 states in academic achievement, and the Davis solution? Outfest 2002!

Generosity of spirit, moving in ways inexplicable, demonstrates intention.

Last year at the Novato School District, Children's Book World presented the "Fringe Benefits" program of plays, described as "songs and poems promoting tolerance and celebrating diversity." One "Fringe Benefit" play, by Mark E. Rosenthal, was titled "Cootie Shots: Theatrical Inoculations Against Bigotry for Kids, Parents and Teachers." The play was endorsed by State Senator and Davis confidante Sheila Kuehl, and presented to third, fourth and fifth-grade students.

Under the guise of "making sure that children feel safe in school," the school district play contained "homosexual overtures" that led children to believe that homosexuality is acceptable and that those who don't approve are "hate-filled bigots." Eight parents filed lawsuits against the school district.

Two years before in May, 1999, here is what confirmed bachelor Mr. Rosenthal had to say in his online journal about the spirit of tolerance and celebration of diversity in Cootie Shots:

"We've got it!" "Three assemblies! For a sh*t***d of kids. 100 or more per show, depending on how many parents do the wrong thing and refuse permission."

In a later entry, Rosenthal wrote:

"I AM BURNING ... Those stupid m***erf**k**s are at it again. A**ho** parents are posting signs around the school we're visiting Monday, urging people to keep their kids home to protest the show ... They still hate us. And I still hate them right back."

According to one of Gray Davis´s largest supporters, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), "Love is what makes a family and children should study whatever subjects interest them and choose career paths unhindered by gender stereotypes." So that´s what "love" means.

Davis, GLSEN, Sheila Kuehl, and many other of the mentally tormented in California employ the usual "gay" strategy of using victimization rhetoric to justify homosexual-, bisexual- and transsexual-affirming programs in schools. GLSEN has used this tactic effectively for years, disarming critics who don´t want to be perceived as mean.

AB537, also known as the California Student Safety and Violence Prevention Act of 2000, is a bill that was introduced by Assembly member Sheila Kuehl and signed by Governor Gray Davis in October of 1999. It became state law as of January 1, 2000.

After Davis signed Keuhl´s bill, state Education Superintendent Delaine Eastin said: "This is not about sex, it is about preventing young people from becoming victims. Lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered students are at high risk. We must end that." Ms. Eastin, if you went after teachers who run off to Vegas with their minor students with the same ferocity the left goes after homosexual priests, schools would be a lot more safe. But then you´d have to actually do your job, instead of kow-towing to a pet agenda that puts money in Democratic party coffers. Your position is non-partisan last we looked.

Will Rogers said that Americans thought they were getting smarter because they allowed lawyers, instead of their conscience, to make their decisions for them. It is relevant to think about what is true and what is good. However, acting upon what is true and what is good in California K-12 is not only irrelevant, it´s unacceptable. Just ask Gray Davis and Sheila Kuehl.

The notoriety they have gained will outlive them. The legacy they are establishing will destroy us. The gay rights movement is undermining marriage, as well as subordinating education to sexual politics. It is chilling to think how Davis, Kuehl and Eastin have seized control of the dialogue and how they demonize anyone who disagrees with them. Did you ever think the day would come when legal protections for the mental trauma suffered by an undisclosed number of transgendered students would outweigh the physical safety interests of school children from guns, drugs and teen pregnancies? Welcome to California 2002, off the rails!
