Hi Janice. I took a long long walk on Sat. and this is what I saw.
As I was walking I noticed three small children playing and laughing.
I smiled at them and then suddenly I became very sad because I
remembered that 2.3 children just starved to death during the
previous second and tens of thousands starved to death during the
previous 24 hours. A sea tern dropped out of the sky in front me
covered with oil. I stubbed my toe on an abandoned refrigerator that
was leaking CFC gas. It was eating the ozone in front of my eyes.
A 61 Cadilac billowing thick exhaust smoke drove by
a little Poodle. The Poodle turned black and fell over dead.
A group of pathetic homeless men dressed in rags were sharing
a bottle of Ripple. They made me feel sad so I gave each one a dollar
and told them to buy fresh vegetables. I noticed the ocean was an
1/8 of an inch deeper than it was 10 years ago. This global warming
thing has me scared. A man was cutting down a tree in his yard and
it reminded me that another 1000 acres of rain forest was cut while
thousands of people starved to death. While I was in the park I
munched on some leaves and acorns. That's what I like about being
a vegetarian, there is food everywhere. Grass, flowers, sticks, vines
and leaves, and it's all free. I bought an apple from a street vendor.
He said it was grown organically. He was right, it was filled with worms. That reminded me of the 100's of millions of people whose
only source of protein is insects. I cheerfully ate the worms and
realized how lucky I was to have worms instead of beetles and spiders. Why is going for a walk so depressing?
