Not sure I get it Northforce. Seems like HDTV adoption in Japan is just about where it is in the US. Also, hate to keep harping on functionality, but HDTV essentially does what a TV does, albeit with a sharper picture. TVs have been widely adopted in both US and Japan.

Now if you're contrasting 1x vs. 2g to the birthing problems HDTV is having because of the widespread acceptance of TV, two points.

1. Again,the difference between what HDTV does and what TV does is a difference in degree. The difference between 1x and 2g is a difference in kind.

2. If 1x were as expensive relative to 2g as HDTV is relative to TV, I'd agree that there would be a problem, even with the much greater functionality adds of 1X over 2g compared to HDTV over TV.

Don't think I've got my answer yet.Perhaps its because I quibble too much.
