I don't think I really focused on the word, sadistic, until that point in the discussion. In the context of the discussion leading up to the insult and in the context of all the hype that's been flying around here, I read "sadistic" as "kinky" and my reactions reflected that reading. Had I focused on "sadistic" as "sadistic" some of my arguments would have been different.
Karen, I so much appreciate your acknowledging that! It was sooo bizarre to me to have you and a couple of others responding as though what CH had done was say I was into kinky porn. I kept reposting his words, thinking "What? I don't f-ing believe this." And now you can see why the impression that you were a staunch supporter of CH was being conveyed. What I now see was an oversight on your part after a while began to seem like spin, and spin always has an agenda.
I think it would have been wise to accept his apology, lacking though it was.
I think my response was wiser in every way than "accepting" an "apology" that merely added to my sadistic sexual predeliction, hypocrisy. Read it again, I think you'll see that now he has me as a sexual sadist hypocrite, by my own "explanation." (Which never occurred, of course.)
but I accept her explanation that she viewed and described such porn not out of pleasure or desire, but out of disgust with it and in order to better oppose it.
